Twelve people were killed when a Bolero that skidded off the Bharmaur-Badgram road and fell into 750m deep Kuthar Nallah of Bharmaur tribal area in Chamba district, Himachal. The victims were between 14-18 age group and returning after playing a cricket match when the tragedy struck late last night.

Villagers and rescue teams recovered the bodies from wreckages of the vehicle this morning. The bodies were brought to Badgram village where a team of doctors would carry out postmortem so that cremations could take place today itself.

Governor Urmilla Singh, Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, Forest Minister Thakur Singh Bharmauri has expressed shock over the tragedy and conveyed their condolences to the bereaved families.

Chief Minister has directed the District Administration to under take rescue operation on war footing and provide all possible help the effected families. The District Administration has provided immediate relief of Rs. 10,000 each to the families members of the deceased.
