Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited (SJVN) presented a dividend cheque of Rs. 101.28 crore to state government. Chairman cum Managing Director, Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited (SJVN) R.P. Singh alongwith Director (Finance) A.S. Bindra, Director (Personnel) N.L. Sharma and Director (Electrical) R.K. Bansal presented cheque to Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh here today.

Chief Minister thanked the SJVN for the dividend and said that the State Government would consider the demand of allocating more projects to SJVN sympathetically.

R.P. Singh apprised the Chief Minister that the company had earned a net profit of Rs, 1052.34 crore during the financial year 2012-13. He said that for its financial performance during the year 2012-13, SJVN had declared a total dividend of` 397.12 crore. Against the 25.5% equity share in the Company, the Government of Himachal Pradesh has been paid a dividend of Rs. 101.28 crore against Rs. 99.17 crore paid last year.

Singh told that SJVN had declared a total dividend of Rs. 397.12 crore for financial year 2012-13 which was 2.1% higher than the last years dividend of Rs. 388.84 crore. The dividend works out at 96 paisa per share of Rs. 10/- each. Since financial year 2004-05 (year when flagship project of SJVN Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station started generating electricity), SJVN has paid Rs. 643.15 crore as dividend to the Government of Himachal Pradesh.

R.P. Singh informed that the Company’s 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station is completing 10 years of generation during the month of October, 2013. He further told that NJHPS had created yet another record by generating 1186 Million Units (MUs) in a single month i.e. in July 2012 during last financial year. Singh requested the Chief Minister to allocate more projects to SJVN in the State.
