BJP veteran and party candidate for Kangra parliamentary Shanta Kumar has intensified his election campaign and regularly conducting public meetings to reach out to the electorates of the region.

Recently he conducted meeting at Congress bastion Nagrota Bagwan and requested electorates to vote in his favour. In his address, he accused Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh for neglecting regions on political consideration. He accused Singh for neglecting Kangra Lok Sabha segment and dilapidated condition of roads in many parts of the region are live example of it.

Shanta Kumar also accused Virbhadra Singh for missing out AIIMS campus in Himachal Pradesh. He claimed that in 2003 then NDA led Govt had allocated an AIIMS for Himachal and he had approached then Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh in writing for its opening in Kangra district. He requested him to give his written consent to the Union Health Minister so that an AIIMS could be set up in Kangra. However, Singh refused as he was not ready to open this institution in Kangra.

BJP Veteran lamented that the state lost a big Central-funded medical project valuing Rs 4,000 crore. He stated every correspondence to this effect was on record and could be verified by anyone from the record of the Himachal government. He regretted that it was all because of non-cooperative attitude of Virbhadra Singh that the state was deprived of a big health project.
