Shimla: Former Horticulture Minister and state BJP vice-president Narinder Bragta advocated for opening All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) campus in or around Shimla town.

In a press conference here today, Bragta said that the Shimla is most suitable location for the AIIMS and suitable land is also available for it.

Narinder Bragta also met Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan Singh at New Delhi and urged him to allot super specialty hospital in or around Shimla town.

Bragta asked Shimla district legislatures to come openly in support of opening AIIMS campus in Shimla. He also asked Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh to support the cause.

GS Bali, Congress leader from Kangra had already coined for opening the proposed AIIMS at Tanda medical college, whereas Health Minister Kaul Singh Thakur wanted it to set up in Mandi district. Youth Congress president and son of Chief Minister, Vikramaditya Singh has also came open in support to set up Medical Institute in Mandi.
