Education Minister I.D. Dhiman says that Rs. 6.50 crore would be spent in Chamba District under Sakshar Bharat Mission. The project would be implemented in two years and completed by 31st March, 2012. Targets of covering 54075 persons have been fixed under the project. Minister elaborate about the mission that primary aim of this mission is to enable the neo-literates to continue their learning beyond basic literacy and acquire equivalency to formal education system including vocational education and providing opportunities for lifelong learning and continuing education. He assures that State Government had made concerted efforts to provide quality education to the students in the State. Himachal has already attained numero uno position in education sector and government wants to retain it.
