Students of the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Hamirpur, protest against the alleged beating of students by some local taxi drivers. Police persuaded aggrieved students with assurance of action against the perpetrators. It was learned that few students were mercilessly beaten up by the taxi drivers on Friday and Sunday nights over the minor altercation of fare. Police has arrested eight taxi drivers and impounded five vehicles.
