PWD Minister Thakur Gulab Singh said that about 475 posts of drivers and operators would soon be filled up by promotion in the Department. He said that one time relaxation had been given in Educational qualification to those employees working on temporary basis on the post of drivers in the PWD department besides fulfilling other all eligibility conditions.
Minister said that the total number of vehicles including other machinery were 1754 in the department whereas only 1279 posts of drivers and operators were created against these vehicles. He further said that by filling up of these posts, the Department would ensure proper utilization of these machineries. He also thanked the Chief Minister Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, for this genuine cause.
Minister added that Department Appointment Committee headed by Engineer-in-Chief, PWD would be constituted in the department for filling up of these posts by promotion. He said that it would not only provide better employment avenues to the temporary working employees of the Department but also bring efficiency in departmental working as well.
