One day special workshop on Solar systems for hotel owners was organized in Sterling Resorts Manali by Ambala based International Award Winner Company “Solanand Solar Systems”. Managing Director of the company Umesh Garg appealed to all the hoteliers of the Manali to adopt a economical and nature friendly alternate solar heating systems, solar geysers, energy saving products, domestic and institutional RO systems. He said that in order to overcome the power shortage in future, the Government is providing handsome incentive and subsidy of 60 percent for installations of Solar geysers. He also emphasized on rain water harvesting, full proof security systems in hotels by installing CCTV’s. Garg shared his concern with hoteliers that depleting ground water, receding glaciers, global warming, shrinking forest has been affecting natural water sources considered to be life line of every creature on this earth. In order to contain this man made phenomenon, Garg advised hoteliers to use a five stage water treatment system using RO technology which is being used worldwide for producing safest drinking water by removing even dissolved impurities like salts, heavy metals and chemical contaminants.Before concluding the meeting, all the office bearers and members of the association unanimously in their resolution thanked Government for sanctioning Palchan -Rohtang and Jia – Bijli Mahadev Ropeways. They also expressed their happiness over declaration of Manali as best tourist destination in India by the survey of Outlook magazine. Chairman Gautam Thakur and President Gajender Thakur revealed that hoteliers association would soon launch their documentary film “MANALI DARPAN”, and also seriously considering over the proposal of online booking. They also said that association has written a request letter to the civil aviation ministry to extend connectivity of flight direct from Mumbai to Kullu Manali Airport.
