Himachal the land of hydropower projects has immense electricity crisis at the grassroot level, number of villages still face problems with electricity, while the State government claims of having a power project in almost every possible stream in the State. The crises aren’t because of dearth of electricity; instead these account more to the government’s mismanagement of HPSEB employees. Deha, a large area of about 5-7 thousand people in Ghodhna Panchyat of Theog, has a seat for a junior engineer (electricity branch) vacant for a very long time now, and the area, as reported by Ghodhna Panchayat pardhan Pawan Chauhan, also has a shortage of electricity staff and linesmen, because of which the area often remains without electricity of days. The matter has been brought to the notice of the concerned authorities repeatedly but there has been no action.
Without a JE and adequate electricity staff, Deha lingers under electricity crises
