The state electricity board is projecting an increase in the aggregate revenue requirement (ARR) for 2011-12 because of which the power tariffs are expected to go up in the state. As appose to Rs 2,687.84 crore expenditure last year, a revenue requirement of Rs 3,308.29 crore for the current financial year is projected, owing to which the average power tariff could rise from Rs 3.84 to Rs 4.45 per unit that if the ARR is approved by the State Electricity Regulatory Commission.
