The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Hamirpur has phased out its MBA course temporarily from this session amid the shortage of faculty. The institute had started MBA course in 2009 and two batches had already been passed out from here. However, NIT will start course again after the recruitment of regular faculty. The MBA course was being run here as an add-on course for the students pursuing BE/B.Tech or M.Tech courses in different fields, under the self-financing scheme. There were 30 seats in the course and Rs 2 lakh was being charged for this course. This course has been phased out on the direction of the Board of Governors (BoG) of the NIT.
