Hamirpur Lok Sabha MP Anurag Thakur is part of the three-member delegation of Indian youth leaders who will represent India at the prestigious youth meet “Youth: Dialogue & Mutual Understanding” being organized by the General Assembly, UN. The delegation is being led by Union Sports Minister Ajay Maken.

Many youth leaders from the world are participating in this prestigious programme. The special event is being organized as part of the International Year of Youth.

Anurag Thakur said that the high-level meeting would comprise two consecutive informal interactive thematic panel discussions on 25 July 2011 and two plenary meetings on 26 July 2011. The thematic panel discussions will comprise of themes involving Strengthening international cooperation regarding youth and enhancing dialogue, mutual understanding and active youth participation as indispensable elements towards achieving social integration, full employment and the eradication of poverty and Challenges to youth development and opportunities for poverty eradication, employment and sustainable development, said he.

Anurag Thakur added that it will be a good occasion for him to meet global leaders and share perspectives from India. UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon will also address the conference on July 25.
