Chess Association of India (CAI) is organising a Chess tournament in Himachal Pradesh in December this year. The winner will get Rs. 2 lakh price and will be eligible to play in an international chess tournament abroad and CAI will bear all the expenses. The exact date is not declare yet, but it will be first of its kind tournament in the Himachal Pradesh.

To popularize the chess in the state CAI have recognized the Chess Association of Himachal Pradesh and deputed Vijay Thakur as its President and Dharmender as its General Secretary. In the press conference at press club Shimla, CAI announces its Himachal body that will work under the guidance of CAI and will further organize tournament and other activities in the state.
