Himachal Pradesh Government has constituted a Climate Change Cell in Irrigation & Public Health Department. Chief Engineer (D&M) will be its Chairman. Representative of Director Industries, representative of Director Urban Development, representative of Director Agriculture, representative of Chief Conservator of Forest, representative of Director RD&PR, representative of Director Energy, Superintending Engineer (Hydrology), Nominee from H.P. Water Management Board and Superintending Engineer (P&I)-I will be its members.

The Climate Change Cell would provide necessary inputs and assistance to Monitoring Committee on any issue of impact of climate change on water resources. It would also coordinate this issue with all Climate Change Cells in National Institute of Hydrology, CWC, CGWB etc. for research and studies.

Himachal Pradesh Government has also constituted a Monitoring Committee for successful implementation of strategies to cope with the impact of climate change. Principal Secretary (IPH) will be its Chairman and Principal Conservator of Forest, Director Industries, Director Urban Development, Director Agriculture, Director RD&PR, Engineer-in-Chief, IPH, Director Energy, All Chief Engineer, IPH, Superintending Engineer (Hydrology) and nominee from IIT Mandi Board will be its Members. Superintending Engineers (P&I)-II will be Member Secretary of the Committee. The Committee will ensure the number of activities to be taken by States as envisaged in the National Water Mission (NWM).
