Industries Minister Kishan Kapoor said that State Government was making its all out efforts to reduce the rates of cement in the state and directions have been issued to the cement companies to take necessary measures by 21st November and intimate the Government regarding the decision in this regard. Industries Minister said it in a meeting with senior officers and representatives of various cement factories.

Minister said that the valuable land of the State had been provided by the people to cement companies to establish cement production units, besides various incentives being provided to cement factories by the State Government. He said that despite this, prices of cement were higher in the State in comparison to neighbouring States. He said that cement factories established in the State should ensure that cement was available on reasonable rates to people of the State. Ajay Taygi Principal Secretary, Industries, R.D. Dhiman, Chairman, H.P. State Electricity Board Ltd. and Managing Director, J.S. Rana, Director, Industries, Dinesh Malhotra, Additional Director, Industries and representatives of various cement factories were present on the occasion.
