It is reported that at Gandihar village of Dalhousie, a building gutted in fire. The fire broke out about 8 pm on Thursday and within a no time; the whole house went up in flames. Residents of surrounding villages could not douse the fire as there was no water source nearby.

Though the fire brigade from Chamba also reached the fire incident site, it was too late by then and the whole building had been destroyed in the fire. The loss has been estimated at over Rs 10 lakh.

Subdivisional Magistrate of Dalhousie Mandu Choudhary visited the fire site and directed revenue officials to carry out relief and rescue operations, and to asses the exact loss caused by the fire. The SDM said an immediate relief of Rs 5,000 to each of the fire-affected families had been disbursed as per the relief manual. Efforts were being made to rehabilitate the affected families.
