Giving a new form to the very sensitive issue, IPH minister Ravinder Ravi has seconded the notion of creation of new districts and reorganization of districts in Himachal. The statement delivered in front of mediapersons at the Dharamsala secretariat, has once again racked up the idea of division of Kangra, the biggest and the most populous district, into Dehra, Nurpur and Palampur districts, which would easy up pressure of 15 Assembly seats in Kangra.
The demand for the creation of new district is however being opposed by many senior leaders of BJP. Congress MLA from Nagrota Bagwan GS Bali is suspicions about the idea, saying the new districts would provide financial burden on the State exchequer.
