Member of Lok Sabha from Hamirpur, Anurag Singh Thakur has written a letter to Meira Kumar, Hon’ble speaker of the Lok Sabha, stating that due to the nonfunctioning of the Parliament, owning to the FDI decision, he wouldn’t take his salary and allowances.

In the letter, Anurag mentions that the Government is unwilling to discuss the issues like money laundering and corruption etc., but instead is adamant about decision to allow 51 percent FDI in multi-brand retail and 100 percent in single-brand retail, which his party (BJP) and left members are opposing. He has firmly avowed that he wouldn’t draw his salary or allowances until the Parliament resumes normal functioning.
