State Election Commission today notified the election programme for the general election in four Gram Panchayats viz. Joban, Namhog of Development Block Ani and Karza, Soyal of Development Block Naggar, District Kullu and bye-election of casual vacancies declared vacant upto 31st August, 2011 in respect of Panchayati Raj Institutions of district Solan.

According to notification, nomination papers can be presented on 22nd, 23rd and 24th December, 2011 (Between 11:00 am to 3:00 pm) Nomination papers for the offices of Gram Panchayat shall be filed at the places and before the officers appointed by the District Election Officers( Panchayat).

The nomination papers would be scrutinized on 26th December, 2011 (From 10:00 am onwards), a candidate can withdraw his candidature on 28th December, 2011 (Before 3:00 pm), List of contesting candidates showing the name of symbol allotted to them shall be prepared and affixed on 28th December, 2011 immediately after the time of withdrawal is over. The List of polling stations will be published on or before 22nd December, 2011.

The poll, if necessary would be held from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm on 8th January, 2012. Counting of votes for Member, Up-Pradhan and Pradhan of Gram Panchayats shall be taken up on the date of Poll immediately after the close of the poll at the Gram Panchayat Headquarters. The counting once started shall continue until it is completed. The result of the election of Member, Up-Pradhan and Pradhan of Gram Panchayat shall be declared on the date of the poll immediately after counting is over.
