Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal dedicated newly constructed Primary Health Centre at Dhaneta in Nadaun Sub-Division of district Hamirpur that is constructed at a cost of Rs. 49 lakhs, to the people of the area. Chief Minister also addresses public there and claimed that present State Government has appointed over 800 MBBS and Ayurvedic Doctors during last four years besides a number of specialists to provide best treatment to the patients nearer to their homes.

Chief Minister said that health had been on priority agenda of the State Government. He said that intake of MBBS in two medical colleges of the State had been enhanced from 115 to 200 in Dr. Rajendra Prasad Medical College, Tanda and IGMC, Shimla besides increasing PG seats from 39 to 110. He said that 73 BDS were appointed to cater to the dental care services. He said that the State Government had successfully implemented Mukhya Mantri Vidyarthi Swasthya Yojna by deployment of a team of over one dozen doctors to medically examine students in the schools and 10 lakh students would be covered under second phase of this programme.

Dhumal said that Himachal Pradesh had been adjudged best nutrient state in the country for providing nutritious food to the infants besides lowering the ratio of IMR from 45 earlier to 40 per thousand infant which would further be reduced in future. He said that Atal Swasthya Sewa Yojna had been a great success in providing succour to patients to reach the hospitals itself for treatment. He said that since the free ambulance services were manned by trained medical staff and 567 deliveries had been carried successfully in the ambulances during past one year. He said that besides free institutional delivery facility for expectant mothers they were being given free medicines during hospitalization.

Chief Minister said that with a view to bring about uniformity amongst the students of different sections of the society studying in government schools, the state government had introduced Atal School Uniform Yojna from this year under which all students studying from 1st to 10th class would be provided uniform free of cost twice in a year.

Chief Minister announced Rs. 10 lakh each for Ayurvedic health centre building re-construction at Jasai and Hathol in the area; Rs.10.18 crore for construction and improvement of various major and link roads in the segment. He said that Rs. 3.10 crore was also being spent on various health and school buildings in the area. He sanctioned Rs. 5 lakh for construction of Community Centre at Dhaneta. He said that Basaral would soon be getting a branch of Kangra Central Cooperative Bank to facilitate banking services to the local people.

Chief Minister also listened to grievances of the people after the public meeting. R.L.Chauhan, Manager, Central Bank of India, Dhaneta, donated 20 bed sheets for the newly opened PHC. Vijay Agnihotri, BJP leader welcomed the Chief Minister. He thanked CM for getting 75 MW Dhoula Siddh Hydro Electric Project investigated and sanctioning a number of developmental projects for Nadaun segment by rising above all considerations. Sukhdev Sharma Shastri, Chairman, HP Gau Raksha Samiti and a noted social worker of the area also welcomed CM and other dignitaries to the area.
