Industries Minister Kishan Kapoor said that Himachal Pradesh General Industries Corporation would popularise its products by improving their quality besides making them attractive. He was addressing the Board of Directors meeting of the Corporation here today.

Industries Minister suggested the Corporation to compete for the rate contract in order to expand its commercial activities and added that furniture should be manufactured according to the latest trends and taste of the consumers for increasing the income of the Corporation.

Kapoor said that to upgrade skill, training should be imparted to the employees of the Corporation to bring in manual efficiency thereby resulting in improving the quality of the products. The supply network of the products should be strengthened, he added.

Later, the Minister also convened a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Nahan Foundry Limited and gave them necessary directions regarding settling the pending issues. He directed the officers to expedite the process of merging the Nahan Foundry Limited into H.P. State Industrial Development Corporation. Ajay Tyagi, Principal Secretary, Industries detailed about the activities of the Corporation. T.C. Janartha, Managing Director, General Industries Corporation and J.S. Rana, Director Industries were also present in the meeting.
