A meeting to review infrastructure development works sanctioned under Circuits and Destination Schemes was held under the chairmanship of Dr Arun Sharma, Director Tourism here today.

Dr Arun Sharma disclosed that a Mega Rural Tourism Circuit at a cost of Rs 50 crore would be prepared for promoting rural tourism and generating employment avenues to local youth. He said that Solid Waste Management Circuit to provide civic amenities to tourists was also under consideration.

He directed all the officers to inspect the tourism units and ensure proper hygiene facilities to tourist. He also asked them to complete works within stipulated time .He urged the forest department to open Forest Rest Houses to tourists besides extending online reservation facility to them.

Principal Secretary Tourism Manisha Nanda also reviewed the progress of various works being carried out by the tourism department.
