Himachal Pradesh industries minister Kishan Kapoor has been nominated as member on newly constituted National Food Processing Development Council (NFPDC).

The council has been set up under the chairmanship of Sharad Pawar union minister of agriculture and food processing Govt of India. The ministers of five states Assam, Bihar ,Himachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra has been nominated as member of the council according to official notification issued by ministry of food processing industries Govt of India.

The council has been set up to give boost to the growth of food processing industries in the country and to ensure proper coordination, implementation, monitoring and follow up of the plan schemes of the ministry. The council will meet twice a year on half yearly basis
