Himachal Congress is in no mood to let the BJP to criticise the Conter Govt for not giving enough funds to the State. State General Secretary Congress Kuldeep Singh Rathore blamed BJP led Govt lackluster development in State and said that the latest report of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) proves that Dhumal government was not utilising the Central funds properly.

While addressing a press conference, Rathore said the supply of 3,200 tonnes of substandard pulses and foodgrain, diversion and non-utilisation of funds running into hundreds of crores under various Central schemes, mounting losses of public sector units, which had crossed Rs 16,691 crore, and other irregularities pointed out in the report had caught the state government on the wrong foot. Further, the Centre had approved the state’s annual plan of Rs 3,700 crore for 2012-13 without any cut by providing special assistance which nailed the BJP lie that the state was being discriminated by the Centre in providing funds.

He ridiculed the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association-backed campaign for the release of Annandale ground and alleged that its president Anurag Thakur was eyeing the historic ground.

While asking the stand of Congress over Lokayukta Bill and party’s walkout in Vidhan Sabha in the debate on it, Rathore justified decision on the grounds that the government had ignored the democratic process by not taking the Opposition into confidence in the matter.
