Food and Civil Supplies Minister Ramesh Dhawala urged the Centre Government to increase the kerosene oil quota for the State so that the consumers did not face any inconvenience.

He said that the Centre Government at national level had allocated a quota of 22 litre kerosene oil per family per month to those who did not have gas connection and added that due to the reduction in the present quota, the State Government was facing difficulty in making available even 1.5 to 2 litre kerosene oil to the consumers in the State. He further said that the Centre was allocating average 8.6 litre kerosene oil at national level where as the allocation to Himachal was only 4.74 litre.

The Minister said that the Centre Government had wrongly projected 14.24 lakh gas connections against the actual 10,52,447 gas connections in the State and reduced the kerosene oil quota which was unfair and the consumers of the State were facing problems.
