To boost the tourism in Kinnaur district, Govt has decided to start AC Volvo and Non AC Coach service from Shimla-Delhi and Shimla-Kalpa. Chief Minister will flag off the bus service on 20th April, 2012 at 9 am from Central Telegraph Office (CTO), The Mall Shimla.

Extending a special incentive to the passengers travelling on the flag off day, 20 per cent special discount will be offered to them. The bus service will start plying from Shimla to Delhi and Shimla to Kalpa and vice versa for providing the much needed facility for foreign and Indian tourists. The new service being operated to Kalpa/Recong Peo will help the tourists to explore the rich culture of tribal region of Kinnaur.

AC Volvo coaches from Shimla to Delhi and vice versa operating during day time will continue till 30th June, 2012 and Kalpa Travel Service will initially be operated for the period of two months on alternative days and if the demand of the tourists picks up further, the same will be operated every day.

HPTDC will also run its five luxury coaches from Manali to Rohtang Pass and back with a view to reduce the traffic congestion in the area. Previously the Corporation was running night Volvo Service from Shimla to Delhi and vice versa only while the Kalpa Travel Service is being operated for the first time which will depart Shimla (Victory Tunnel) at 7.30 am and reach Kalpa in HPTDC Hotel Kinner Kailash at 6 pm and same will be the departure time from Kalpa in the morning. The tourists can also take this service upto Rampur and Recong Peo and the fare fixed is Rs. 500 upto Kalpa and Rs. 450 and Rs. 250 for Recong Peo and Rampur respectively.

These travel services will meet out the additional demand of the tourists and the Corporation is committed to provide efficient, responsible, safe and comfortable services to the tourists visiting to the State.
