Union Minister Virbhadra Singh today said the party should declare its chief ministerial candidate in advance for the upcoming Himachal Pradesh Assembly polls. Congress veteran said that

“It would be better if the leader for ensuing assembly polls in Himachal was declared in advance, There should be no doubt about the leader in the minds of the people and they should be clear as to who would be the Chief Minister, if the party returns to power,”

He added that the delay in declaration of the leader cost the party in Punjab and such a situation should not arise in Himachal Pradesh. He also praises the initiative taken by some young congress MLAs to unite the all senior leaders and said that in the coming election outcome will be positive.

It was a virtual parade of strength at the union minister’s Shimla private residence with 16 out of the 23 Congress legislators and equal number of former legislators present to back their leader ahead of assembly polls.
