General Secretary Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee Kuldeep Singh Rathore has urged party workers to work untidily to ensure the party win in the Shimla MC election. Rathore announced that Congress will announce its manifesto on 17 May. He added that HPCC members, election committee members and senior party leaders will be present at the occasion.

He expressed dismay over the reports that the state Election Commission had refused to get the hoardings displaying achievements of the BJP Govt covered in compliance with the model code of conduct for the Shimla Municipal Corporation poll. The state EC is reportedly of the view that only hoardings put up after April 27, when the code came into force, should be removed. He said the Congress would take up the matter with the commission again.

Kuldeep Singh Rathore also warned rebels with strict action for working against official party candidates in Shimla MC Election. Without naming anyone he said that candidates were selected after consulting senior leaders and all true Congress workers should accept them.
