To ensure Congress candidates win in Shimla MC election, Party senior leaders Union Minister Virbhadra Singh, Opposition leader Vidya Stokes, HPCC Chief Kaul Singh Thakur assembled at Sanjauli and addresses public rally, which was attended by the thousands of Congress supporters.

Congress Mayor Nominee Madhu Sood thanked Congress senior leader for addressing public rally which was convened at short time notice. While urging the support from the voters she said that Congress is instrumental from developing Himachal and record development works were the result of party’s commitment towards the development. She added that in her tenure MC Shimla has achieved many laurels and because of hard-work and sincerity of her team, MC Shimla got many ambitious projects. Parking for about 1000 vehicles is coming up and she assured that if she voted back into the power she will develop other parking slot.

Deputy Mayor Harish Janartha praised Virbhadra Singh and thanked him for coming to boost the moral of congress candidates. Deputy Mayor Candidate Davinder Chauhan and wards party candidates of Sanjauli and Engineghar also thanked Congress senior leaders for holding public rally in their wards.

Fissure in the party fold also crops in open as few congress leaders openly cornered senior leaders. Rally was organised to show the party might for the MC election, but it turned into the platform of showing strength within the party. It was supposed to be the public meeting for seeking support for party candidates, but it seems that a section of workers were trying to make it a platform of projecting Chief Minister for the forthcoming assembly election.
