In the review meeting of Food and Civil Supplies Department, directions were issued to ensure supply of edible commodities, LPG and kerosene in the tribal areas of the State. The decision to this effect was taken in a meeting presided over by Ramesh Dhawala, Food and Civil Supplies Minister.

The Minister also took the stock of situation arising out of shortage of petroleum products and urged the officers of the department to take up the matter with the management of oil companies and also directed them to keep vigil over black marketing and profiteering of petroleum products.

He said that the new ration cards would now be made by Municipal Corporation, Shimla. He said that complaints had been received that few shopkeepers were fleecing the tourists by charging more from them and directed the departmental authorities to depute inspectors to check the same. He said that special inspection campaigns should be launched to check misuse of domestic LPG by commercial establishments.
