State’s Public Works Minister, Gulab Singh Thakur informed that NABARD has sanctioned Rs 88.96 crore as loan for construction of 22 Rural Roads & Bridge Projects and 12 Minor Irrigation Projects. This loan has been sanctioned from NABARD’s Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF). Shri Thukur said, that it is because of the earnest effort of the Government that pursued the matter with NABARD vigorously. And was thus able to get NABARD to sanction the mettling of 13 roads measuring 98.51 kms in Kangra, Sirmour, Shimla, Una, Solan and Kullu Districts. Besides this seven Kutcha Roads of districts Kangra, Kullu Chamba, and Mandi of 52.985 kms will also be mettled.

Other than the roads two bridges of span length of 150 metres would also be constructed in Kangra and Mandi districts. Gulab Singh Thakur, in praise of the Government said, that the Government is eying to connect all the census villages with roads and so far 3605 kms of roads and 255 bridges had been constructed during last four years.
