He is considered as one of the big Congress leaders in Kangra region and with this yatra he has successfully made his importance felt in other parts of the state as well. In earlier phases of Rozgar Sangharsh Yatra he had made some blunt claims towards the effect that he won’t take any important place in ministry if Congress failed to get more then 40 seats in the election.

Although, GS Bali refused to be a candidate for the Chief Minister in the forthcoming election, yet his supporters are demanding no less then the top post in the politics of Himachal Pradesh. In the Rozgar Sangharsh Yatra, supporters were making every possible move to project him as congress choice for the CM post. Though GS Bali himself decided to stay clear of such claims and demands.

Needless to say that Bali has great political ambition in state politics and all he is doing is to project himself as a chief ministerial candidate. Having a controversial past and a limited reach outside his assembly seat, prospectuses of becoming CM are very bleak. It appears from his style of politics, that if at any point of time he gains power, will surely become autocrat. His escalation in state politics will certainly back fire congress sooner or later. This apart, there is strong disliking for his candidature in state congress. Leaders like Kaul singh, vidya stokes and Virbharha singh will make every possible attempt to impede his way.
