Union Minister for Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Virbhadra Singh dedicated constructed building to the MSME Development Centre at Chambaghat. During the occasion Congress stalwart announced that the Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh (BBN) industrial area will soon get an intellectual property rights cell. It will be the seventh such cell in North India. Apart from this, a training centre for the pharmaceutical industry will also be opened in the BBN area.

Virbhadra Singh said that this cell will help investors in filing for patents and verifying trade names in Himachal itself, thus saving the hassle of going to Delhi. He also added that lack of trained manpower had reduced the employment opportunities for Himachali youth. It was, therefore, imperative to open such training centres. He said the ministry was open to address the problems of investors and the tool room at Baddi would be developed into a full-fledged facility if the state government provided 10-15 acres of land.
