Himachal Pradesh DGP D S Manhas has leveled serious charges against Congress Leader Virbhadra Singh. DGP Manhas accused Singh of threatening police officers during investigations of the corruption case against him.

The DGP said that Virbhadra Singh has threatened the director general and SPs of the vigilance bureau and the anti-corruption bureau. The DGP said he had enough evidence to prove his accusations.

Earlier, Virbhadra Singh had given a statement that a DGP has made false case against him at the behest his political rival Prem Kumar Dhumal. Virbhadra had also alleged that the DGP had been given an out-of-turn promotion by Dhumal, barely to frame him in a false case.

However in retaliation to the Singh accusation, the police department has made an official statement against Virbhadra Singh claiming that he threatened some of the witnesses with dire consequences. Police head also said that it was wrong to accuse the police for registering false case under the influence of the chief minister. DGP cleared that Initial investigation was done in a professional manner by the SP, SV&ACB and the CFSL report had also confirmed the voices in the CD to be of Virbhadra Singh and his wife Pratibha Singh and on the basis of evidences police had registered case.
