The Congress has flayed the state Govt for making recruitment at a time when the Assembly elections in the state are around the corner. Senior Congress leader GS Bali announced in a press conference that in case the Congress was voted to power, the recruitment made by the present government at the fag end of its term would be reviewed. Bali alleged that nepotism was rampant in the recruitments.

He said since the elections were around the corner, the government should avoid taking major policy decisions that are likely to impact the financial health of the state. In the recent past, the government had promised huge incentives to government employees. This was aimed at influencing the electorate.

GS Bali said the Congress would urge the Chief Election Commissioner to take note of the major policy decisions being taken by the government with a view to influencing the electorate. He added that Congress will also urge the Election Commission to impose the code of conduct in the state at the earliest so that the use of official machinery for electioneering by the government can be stopped.
