Thakur Gulab Singh, Public works Minister said today that for ensuring smooth functioning of the Department, the State Government has promoted 35 Diploma holder Junior Engineers as Assistant Engineers.

Thakur Gulab Singh said that with the promotion of these engineers, the vacant posts of Assistant Engineers had been filled up in the Department. He said that these Engineers were being posted in different parts of the State against the vacancies. He said that this would help in expediting construction and maintenance of roads in the State. He said that in addition to this five Grade-II Superintendents were promoted as Superintendent Grade-I.

Thakur Gulab Singh said that in addition to it, recently 16 graduate and 8 diploma holder SDOs were also promoted as Executive Engineers by the Department. He said that this would not only remove stagnation in the Department but also bring efficiency in functioning of the Department. He said that the Department would also take up the process of filling up of vacant posts of Junior Engineer amongst Road Inspector, Work Inspector, Supervisor and Draughtsman. He said that vacant posts of JEs would also be filled on batch wise basis and through direct recruitment.

Public Works Minister said that all the promoted officers had been advised to join their duties immediately. He said that State Government under the leadership of Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister was according priority for road construction in the State. He hoped that all promoted officers would work with dedication at their newly posted place.
