CPM announces Tikender and 3 other candidates for 4 assembly seats in shimla, Rakesh Singha nominated from Theog

For the forthcoming assembly poll state CPM unit has announced to fight 4 assembly segments in district Shimla. Senior CPM leader Rakesh Singha will be party candidate from Theog assembly segment, Deputy Mayor Shimla MC Tikender Singh Panwar to vie on Shimla urban seat, Rajiv Thakur on Shimla Rural and Dr. Kuldeep Singh Tanwar will fight from Kasumpati constituency.

The CPM will start campaigning from 1st October in all four constituencies. CPM in its press communiqué stated that both Congress and BJP in Center and State respectively are neck deep in corruption. CPM stated that because of faulty policies adopted by the Center and State Govt, unemployment, corruption and inflation are increasing at alarming rate and if stringent steps do not initiated in time, it can affect adversely on the common people. CPM stated that unemployment, corruption in Govt set-up will be main poll issues and will highlights its agenda among the electorates.

Prior it, only Rakesh Singha had made to the Vidhan Sabha in 1993. Earlier Rakesh Singha had won from Shimla urban seat, but now he is vying from Theog and will compete against Congress stalwart Vidya Stokes, who is also his maternal aunt. Rakesh Singha is touted as one of the strong contender from the Theog segment, where from at least four major candidates, including Dr. Pramod Sharma (TMC), who had earlier unsuccessfully contested twice against Stokes, are mulling to contest election. On the other side Tikender Singh Panwar, who has recently registered a big win in a direct election for Deputy Mayor Post in MC Shimla election, will be looking to repeat his charisma in the assembly poll. Whereas Dr. Kuldeep Singh Tanwar can also give good fight from Kasumpati segment to its opponent in the poll.

In the history of Himachal Politics, CPM went unnoticed in most of assembly election, but with the present political development and instability within two major political parties, where many of their senior leaders and old party workers have shifted to the other parties like TMC, NCP, BSP and HLP, CPM can registered its biggest win.
