24 Congress leaders from Manali resign

Protesting against the allotment of ticket to first timer Bhuvneshwar Gaur from Manali, as many as 24 Congress leaders, including Dharamvir Dhami, Devinder Negi, Kamla Prarthy, Anurag Prarthy, Naveen Tanvar and Prem Sharma, resigned from the primary membership of the party.

They have submitted their resignations to state party president Virbhadra Singh and party high command Sonia Gandhi and have asked the party to review its decision in three days or Dhami will contest from Manali as an independent candidate.

Dhami, who joined the Congress last month after Virbhadra Singh assumed the party command in the state, was a hot contender from Manali. Similarly, Negi has also sought ticket from Manali and both are supporters of Virbhadra.
