Sonia Gandhi addresses rally at Mandi, targets BJP for failing to fulfill big promises in Himachal

All India Congress president Sonia Gandhi started her poll campaign in Himachal Pradesh. She addressed a rally at Mandi town where she has launched scathing attack on the BJP-led government and accused it of not making any efforts to take the benefits of central schemes to the poor and needy in the state.

Sonia Gandhi charged the BJP, of making “big” promises, but failing to fulfill them, and added that its sole objective was to target the Congress on issues that have no foundation or basis. She defended her government over the corruption allegations and tackling it. Sonia Gandhi claimed that Congress had acted sternly in dealing with corruption.

While addressing the party supporters at Mandi rally, she said that the corruption is like a cancer, which has spread to our entire system. She added that Congress had brought RTI to fight corruption and which has helped to uncover many scams. Congress president also leveled serious allegations against BJP and said that it is only against Congress not against corruption.

On the rise in the prices of essential commodities, she admitted that this was because of inflationary trends, and added that her party and the government were concerned about it and doing everything possible to curb it. She also lauded the decision of UPA Govt to implement FDI in retail and slammed BJP for creating unnecessarily noise over it.

Gandhi said that the Central funds to the tune of Rs 10,000 crore had been released to Himachal Pradesh, and added that the BJP Government in the state has not made adequate efforts to implement various Central schemes. She alleged that a big amount of it has been lapsed.

Congress All India President Sonia Gandhi attacked on BJP and stated that there is a difference between the promises and actual work of the BJP. She alleged that BJP is only pretending to fight corruption and rising prices and did little efforts on the ground, she alleged.

Gandhi alleged that most of BJP leaders are deep into corruption and to fool innocent people they are protesting and making big issues out of nothing. She advised BJP leaders to introspect before pointing finger at other.
