Himachal manages a lame draw after spirited first innings efforts

Services batsmen foiled the chances of host Himachal Pradesh cricket team at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Stadium, Nadaun. On the final day of the match, Himachal Pradesh bowlers failed to take remaining eight wickets. However with the first inning lead Himachal team gets three important points, but A Chopra led team forgoes the possible chance to get the full points in this match.

Himachal team started well and takes an early breakthrough as VS Malik trapped opener Pratik Desai leg before wicket on 27. But after that Himachal bowlers toiled hard to get the wicket as AH Gupta and Soumya Swain thwarted host’s bowlers chance to get wicket. Soumya Swain slammed 118 and remained not out, whereas AH Gupta supported him well and contribute 64. AH Gupta and Soumya Swain put 178 run stands. However after the fall of AH Gupta wicket Yashpal Singh and Soumya Swain played sensibly and remained not out. Earlier Himachal Pradesh senior player Paras Dogra has slammed his second double hundred and helped to move the team’s scorecard to 544.
