The newly-inducted ministers in Himachal Pradesh were allocated portfolios with Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh retaining key ministries of Finance, Home, Personnel, General Administration, Planning, Education and Tourism. The portfolios were allocated by Governor Urmilla Singh on the advice of the Chief Minister.

Virbhadra Singh, Chief Minister has retained with him Finance, General Administration, Home, Planning, Personnel and all other departments which have not been allotted to any other Minister.

Vidya Stokes has been allocated Irrigation & Public Health, Horticulture and Information Technology Departments, whereas Kaul Singh Thakur has been entrusted with Heath & Family Welfare, Revenue and Law & Legal Remembrance’s Departments.

Congress stalwart from Kangra district, G.S. Bali will look after Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Transport, Technical Education and Vocational & Industrial Training Departments.

Sujan Singh Pathania has been allocated Multipurpose Projects and Power (MPP), Non-Conventional Energy Sources and Agriculture, Thakur Singh Bharmouri with Forests and Fisheries, Mukesh Agnihotri with Industries, Labour and Employment, Parliamentary Affairs and Information and Public Relations Department, Sudhir Sharma has been allocated Urban Development, Housing and Town & Country Planning. Prakash Chaudhary has been assigned the Excise & Taxation and Printing & Stationary Department while Dhani Ram Shandil has been given Social Justice and Empowerment and Sainik Welfare Departments.
