Industries Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, and Housing, Town and Country Planning Minister Sudhir Sharma, today called on Sonia Gandhi, UPA Chairperson at New Delhi.

Mukesh Agnihotri appraised Sonia Gandhi regarding withdrawal of the industrial package to the State. He said that the Government of India had announced a Special Package of Incentives for Himachal Pradesh on 7th January, 2003 for a period of ten years keeping in view its difficult topography and geographical condition.

Agnihotri urged Sonia Gandhi to take up the issue of extending the package for the State which would provide a boost to the industrial development. He said that Gandhi assured him that she would take up the matter regarding the industrial package for sympathetic consideration with the Centre.

Sudhir Sharma, Housing, Town and Country Planning Development Minister urged Sonia Gandhi to approve Mono Rail for Shimla and Dharamshala towns which would help in easing out traffic congestion in these tourist towns. He said that Gandhi assured him of all possible help from the Centre.
