Himachal Pradesh Medical officers Association

A delegation of Himachal Pradesh Medical officers Association met Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and apprised him with their long pending demands. Medical Officers delegation demanded restructuring of the Cadre –Creation of the post of the DGHS, as practiced in small hilly state like Uttrakhand. They also demanded posting of MS in remaining 9 District Hospitals, Creation of post of Deputy CMO’s & District and Program Officers in all the Districts.

Delegation pressed for the regularization of services of Medical officer after completion of 3 years period either as RKS or contractual and also demanded for the post graduation seats for the regular Doctors (GDO) which were reduced to 66.6 % from 90% should be increased up to 100% from academic session 2013 as 50% of the seats already goes to all India quota and the direct candidates are getting that benefit. Himachal Pradesh Medical officers Association urged Chief Minister for the sponsorship of the PG seats for PGI and AIIMS to be restored as used to be in previous congress Govt. regime i.e. 3 years services in rural area.

Delegations of Medical officers also asked Chief Minister to increase of Higher education allowance of post graduate Diploma holder Medical Officers from 2000 to 4000 P.M. Increase of ceiling of upper limit of Pay scale from 79000.00 to 85000.00 as per Punjab pattern. They also asked him to enhance the rural health allowance from Rs. 150 to 6% of basic pay.

Himachal Pradesh Medical officers Association also demanded to make casualty department functional in all Zonal and Regional hospitals. They also ask for the provision of security in all hospitals up to the level of CHC.

Later, Himachal Pradesh Medical officers Association also met Health Minister Kaul Singh Thakur and also discuss their demands with him. Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and Health Minister Kaul Singh Thakur gave patient hearing to their demands assured Himachal Pradesh Medical officers Association delegation with the positive outcome in the coming time.
