All the educational institutions in Lahaul Spiti district will remain close till 6th February, 2013 due to heavy snowfall. Veer Singh Thakur, Deputy Commissioner, Lahaul Spiti in a meeting with district officers today directed to keep vigil over the situation. He said that decision had been taken to keep all the district educational institutions close till 6th February. He said the administration was fully prepared to deal with any kind of emergent situation and there was adequate supply of essential commodities in the district.
Deputy Commissioner directed the ITBP unit Karga and Border Road Organisation at Stingri and Udaipur to make necessary arrangements for tackling any adverse situation arising out due to heavy snowfall. The administration advised the people to stay indoors. District administration has also setup a 24 hours emergency Helpline No: 01900-222501 for assistance of public.
