Congress president accuses former CM of degrading politics

The interactive session of party workers of Himachal Congress at Mandi, Himachal Congress Committee (HPCC) president Thakur Sukhvinder Singh (Sukkhu) accused former Chief Minister and leader of opposition Prem Kumar Dhumal and his son Hamirpur BJP MP Anurag Thakur of degrading politics in the state and turning it into a tool of trade for promoting family fortunes.

He claimed unison in the state party setup and maintained that the party was working as a team under the guidance of senior leaders Virbhadra Singh, Sukh Ram, Kaul Singh Thakur and Vidya Stokes. He claimed to win all the four Lok Sabha seats in the forthcoming Lok Sabha election. He also praised the role of AICC chief Sonia Gandhi and AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi for strengthening the party.

Earlier, Congress state president got a rousing welcome at Mandi, where former Telecom Minister Sukh Ram, Health Minister Kaul Singh Thakur, Animal Husbandry and Rural Development Minister Anil Sharma and Excise and Taxation Minister Parkash Chaudhary, Sohan Lal Thakur, Mansa Ram, Rangila Ram Rao, Chander Shekhar, Prof Vir Singh Chauhan were also present.
