Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh presented the budget for the year 2013-14 today in the house. In this budget, he gave relief to the teacher appointed through PTA (parents’ teacher association) as Chief Minister announced to increase their remuneration.

In his budget speech, Virbhadra Singh applauds the role of PTA teachers and said that these teachers are playing very important role in the schools located in the interior areas. He lambasted at the previous government and blamed them for harassing these teachers and few of them had been removed from the services. Singh in his speech said that his Govt has ordered to reinstate all qualified PTA teachers. He reiterated his promise to form a permanent policy for PTA to regularize them. CM also announced that the post held by a PTA Teacher will be considered as filled and no substitute teacher will be sent.

Chief Minister also announced to increase the grant of PTA teacher. In his budget speech Singh announced to revised grant of Rs. 10,875 to lecturer school cadre from Rs. 7250, for TGT Rs. 6950 to Rs. 10425 and for the PET and C&V teachers from Rs. 6750 to Rs 10125. This will give additional benefits of Rs 20-cr to these teachers.
