The All-India Women’s Selection Committee has picked the Indian team for the T20 International series and ODI series against Bangladesh, to be played in April 2013. In this new set up Himachal 20-year-old girl Sushma Verma has also got nod from the selectors. Sushma hails Shimla.

The President of Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA), Anurag Thakur heaped praises on local girl Sushma Verma for securing a berth in Indian women’s cricket team. Thakur said

“This has been possible by her hard work and all the facilities and training being provided by HPCA to the players,”

Harmanpreet Kaur was named captain of the team and opener Ponam Raut has been named as deputy.

Indian eves will play a three T20s and as many ODIs after their disastrous World Cup campaign in February at home.
