A State Government spokesperson informed that Himachal Pradesh Technical University, Hamirpur would conduct the State Level Common Entrance Examination for admission in MCA, M.Tech, MBA, M.Pharma and B. Pharmacy courses in all professional institutions in the State for academic session 2013-2014.

He said that it was agreed in the meeting with all the stakeholders that admission to all B.Tech level engineering programmes would be solely on the basis of AIEEE from 2013-14 which is now renamed as JEE (Main) and all Universities conducting courses would use the Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) and they would notify this requirement in advance on their website etc. He further directed all the State Private Universities to strictly adhere to the admission norms as prescribed by the Himachal Pradesh Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Commission and to ensure that admissions to engineering and management courses were made only through valid scores of JEE(Main) and CMAT respectively during the academic session 2013-14.

He further said that National Level Entrance Examination like GATE, CPAT, CMAT would be adopted for admission in these course from the year 2014-2015.
