On the second day of session, the opposition BJP walked out from the assembly over the state government’s move to change names of schemes and projects named after former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

As the House assembled, BJP members asked about the fate of their notice on adjournment motion on the issue. Speaker Brij Bihari Lal Butail said the notice given by them was under consideration and they would be allowed to hold discussion on the issue sometime later in the session. However, opposition was adamant on their demand and insisted on immediate discussion. Even opposition started raising slogans against the government in the house.

Leader of Opposition Prem Kumar Dhumal insisted that the discussion be listed on Wednesday’s agenda as state’s budget would be presented Thursday and then the discussion on budget would follow in the coming days.

The question hour, however, continued in the midst of the ruckus. Later, opposition staged a walkout. Miffed with the walkout, Speaker termed it unfortunate.
