Himachal Pradesh Congress committee (HPCC) president Thakur Sukhvinder Singh (Sukhu) warned party men sitting on sensitive posts to desist from corrupt practices. During his first visit of Solan town after assuming charge as the HPCC president, Sukhu said that transparent governance was their key endeavour and any complaint about corruption would be dealt with sternly. He said tough action would be taken against those practising politics of convenience for individual gains.

While addressing party workers, Sukhu asked party men to be ready for the forthcoming parliamentary election. He said that party should win all four seats in state and it would largely depend on the performance of the government and he assured to foster better coordination between the organisation and the government.

He also advised party men to address people grievances at various party platforms. He also warned office bearer to desist to use media as a tool to air their complaints. He warned with stiff action. In his address, Sukhu also targeted former CM and leader of opposition Prem Kumar Dhumal, his son Anurag Thakur and Dr Rajeev Bindal for commercializing politics. He alleged that they bought land from poor farmers at very low rate and sold that to private universities at exuberance cost.

Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment and local legislature DR Shandil, DCC president Rahul Thakur, Vinod Sultanpuri, Sanjay Awasthy, Lakhwinder Rana, Sikender Singh and Ramesh Thakur also addressed party workers. Earlier, Sukhvinder Singh gets a rousing welcome by the District Congress Committee (DCC) at various places in the district while coming from Shimla.
